ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Freedom House (coming in 2025), exists to SHOW PEOPLE WHO JESUS IS. Which means, every person we hire must have a heart to reach lost people and a love for the Church. God is writing an unlikely story here in the Midwest and we deeply believe God is readying His Church for a historic movement that brings glory to HIS name alone. 

The Kids Pastor will help fulfill FH’s vision by providing vision, creation, and implementation to the NextGen department.

Reports to: NextGen Pastor 
Teams: Kids Team, NextGen Team 

Full Time Position

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A mature relationship with Jesus Christ that is clear and evident 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and strategy building skills 
  • A strong team player and collaborator 
  • Projects a professional and confident image and is able to handle a stressful pace 
  • Ability to handle confidential information 
  • Passion to see the next generation know, experience, and serve Jesus 
  • Strong social media skills 
  • Must be a creative contributor to the team and not just a “doer” of projects.
  • This role may include work outside of normal business hours
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • A strong mastery of Apple products or an ability to learn
  • A strong mastery of Google Workspace
  • A mastery or ability to learn PCO and all its components
  • A mastery or ability to learn how to design and edit projects in Canva
  • An ability to work with social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Youtube
  • An ability to film and edit videos
  • Ability to work with BILL financial system and other financial systems that the church implements
  • Ability to work within Leadr
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leadership Development
    • Recruit leaders. 
      • Create clear job descriptions. 
      • Maintain an onboarding system. 
      • Offer clear and continual training. 
      • Success looks like having 2 Leaders in each classroom on each weekend with 1-2 Weekend Leads. 
    • Spread vision and excitement with leaders and the whole church. 
    • Oversee and train leaders in the Next Steps processes (such as baptisms, new believers, serving, etc) for kids. 
    • Work with the NextGen team to help lead all in team training with unified vision. 
    • Maintain staff rhythms of meetings, all hands on deck events, ongoing training.
  • Programming 
    • Develop and execute meaningful and intentional Kids ministry. 
    • Teach and develop teachers for main group teaching times. 
    • Make connections within local schools and in other spaces families are to both build bridges and learn from families. 
    • Develop and implement an outreach strategy for Kids programs. 
    • Build relationships with leaders, kids, and parents/guardians. 
    • Partner with NextGen Coordinator to maintain regular ministry rhythms for Kids Ministry (i.e. attendance, mailings, sign ups, etc). 
    • Partner with NextGen Coordinator to maintain appropriate hospitality systems.
  • Social Media Management
    • Be a brand manager for the student team within the NextGen overall brand.
    • Work with the NextGen team to develop a social media strategy.
    • Ability to create (or recruit someone to create) posts and utilize tools to schedule posting schedules.
    • Utilize social media to create culture and provide information.
  • Events
    • Create and host events based on ministry strategy. 
    • Create and/or attend camps based on ministry strategy. 
    • Create and oversee service events based on ministry strategy. 
    • Oversee signups and financials attached to events. 
    • Maintain communication with parents/guardians about events. 
Compensation: $40,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
